Height increasing tips

My height is 5'2" and i want to increase my height by 2 inches atleast..I am 19 years old and will turn 20 by next january.can u suggest me the diet i have to take daily.My parents insist me to practice breathing exercises rather than doing asanas.which way it will help me to grow tall??

diet: fiber food for health like carrots n leafy vegetables which helps you for free motion. Pass daily motion properly.
Provide proper requirements like calcium n proteins where calcium is present in leafy vegetables and you need to eat protein content like sprouts cereals and all nuts.


Also exercise much like walking which is best and beneficial and proved for growth in many cases. Also works to refresh you in many views. SO ALSO WALK MORE.


In order practice meditation and breathing exercises and yoga.
Different growth related exercises available in yoga also try to practice.

  1. Aruna...be happy with what God has blessed you with. One is genetically designed to be in one way. No matter how much you spend, and whatever diet and excercises you do there won't be any substantial change. With all stretches your spine and stand tall by a 1 or 2 cms max that's all.

    Maintain good posture, and forget thinking about height. Eat healthy, and maintain your calorie intake to less than 1500 Cal per day. At your height you risk gaining weight easily and is to be avoided at all cost.

    Any oil based foods, cool drinks, sugar based foods, salt/sugar/white rice based items will make you gain weight. You should avoid them for healthier foods including lots of fresh fruits and vegetables(semi-boiled or raw)

    Don't bother about what your parents say at 19 you have surpassed your normal hormonal cycle of gaining height.

  3. Just to add neither Pranayama nor Aasana will increase your height.
    But doing both will ensure a healthier body, with Pranayama improving your lung capacity and heart efficieny, while aasana will improve your flexibility, stamina and muscle endurance, inaddition to giving you good upright and confident posture.
    No one likes a drooping or a weak body...So aim for a confident upright self, and cultivate a sense of love for your self.
